Dedicated to excellence in the field of forensic investigation across Canada
The Association promotes and fosters a national forum and governing body for the affiliation of professionals dedicated to excellence in the field of forensic investigation in Canada, who offer to the public, governments and employers, their expertise in the area of fraud prevention, detection and investigation, as well as liaison with other non-profit associations for the purpose of promulgating fraud awareness.
The Association pursues its objectives in service to its members and for the benefit of the public at large.
The Association provides services such as seminars, conferences, specialized training, networking, periodic e-newsletters, as well as a website with articles and educational tools to assist members and others with a comprehensive guide to aid in understanding and dealing with fraud and its related issues.
In essence, the Association provides a “meeting place” where CFI practitioners, who are engaged in law enforcement, forensic & investigative accounting, law, auditing and other related fields, can meet with each other, as well as others, to discuss fraud related issues.
Designations
Dedicated to excellence in the field of forensic investigation across Canada
The Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI) members are professional fraud investigators who have by experience, education and examination satisfied the requirements of the Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI) and have been admitted as regular members of the Association. They are valued for their integrity and expertise. The Association of Certified Forensic Investigators (ACFI) designation is the CFI (Certified Forensic Investigator) and for those who meet the education and examination requirements but have not yet accumulated the required level of experience, they are awarded the CFT (Certified Forensic Technician).
The ACFI welcomes the affiliation of individuals that have an interest in the prevention, detection, investigation and mitigation of fraud and fraud-related activities. For those individuals that wish to demonstrate the highest standard of excellence in the field, affiliation is also the first stage to membership as a Certified Forensic Investigator.

Meet Our Executive Director
The Executive Director of the Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI) provides strategic leadership and oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for implementing the Board’s decisions, advancing the Association’s mission, and ensuring operational excellence. Through strong governance, collaboration, and a commitment to professional integrity, the Executive Director plays a key role in guiding the ACFI in its efforts to uphold the highest standards in forensic investigation across Canada.
